Renovation as Investment: How Considered Interiors Drive Property Value
The Interiors Industry Talks About Homes as if Money Does Not Matter
At Queensdale, we like to start with the numbers.
Most of the industry treats renovation as a cost. You would have to travel far and wide to find a team who enjoy redeveloping properties more than we do, but the underlying financial reality shapes every decision we make.
A recent project in numbers
We completed a pied-à-terre recently. 869 square feet, one bedroom, finished to a high specification for a professional single occupant, a couple, or a corporate relocation. Six months from our first conversation to handover.
At the end of every project, as a matter of course, we commission an independent valuation. Savills and Russell Simpson assessed this one.
The property had been unrentable in its previous condition. It is now valued at £1,600 per week.
That outcome does not happen by accident. It happens because we run every project the way a business should be run. There is a budget. A timeline. Clear deliverables. The same rigour you would expect in a commercial setting, applied with the care a home deserves.
Twenty years of London property
Enhancing London property and rental value is where we began twenty years ago, and it remains central to our ethos. Many of the places we went to find genuine value then remain suppliers to this day. That long view matters. It is what allows us to advise members not just on what looks good, but on what holds its value and what supports a property's earning potential over time.
An investment tool that happens to make your home beautiful
Queensdale is not simply an interiors membership. It is an investment tool that happens to make your home beautiful.
Every member has a live ledger in the portal tracking exactly what they have spent and what they have saved through trade access. In real time. Not estimated. Tracked.
For homeowners who think seriously about return on investment, that combination of structure, access and accountability is why the membership pays for itself.
If your property is underperforming
If you or someone you know has a property that is underperforming relative to its potential, we would be glad to talk. For examples of our recent work, our past projects gallery includes Macaulay Road, Wetherby Gardens, Oakley Street, Westbourne Street and Hobury Street.
