Sussex Street

This immaculate, early Victorian Pimlico townhouse needed to evolve to accommodate the family's changing needs. Queensdale facilitated planning, engineering, party walls and the tender for the owners to add an additional floor as a teenage playroom, moving the housekeeper to the basement flat and reconfiguring the bedrooms and bathrooms. It's difficult to know where to draw the line with refurbishment to a house in good condition; it requires trusted trades and expert knowledge to help prioritise and future proof decisions. The owners had their own aesthetic so Queensdale's role was to bring experience, contacts and guidance while the clients took the lead on design.

TESTIMONIAL

“Disaster struck on March 1st, 2020 when our family home of 52 years suffered what was in insurance terms, a catastrophic fire. Amazingly, after a year in rented accommodation, and during three lockdowns, we moved back on March 19th, 2021 into a totally renovated house. Thanks to Fiona, already a family friend, and her team of architects, surveyors, builders and suppliers, what could have been a traumatic process was made easy, and even fun at times!”
